Goal 4 A Goal is a joint initiative between the Sydney Swans and the Oncology Children’s Foundation. Last year we raised $60 000. That money went toward the Gene Therapy Project, a cutting edge research program performed at the ORU at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This project has reached an exciting stage. During 2009 human trials will take place and a number of children with incurable brain tumours will be able to register to participate. These children have no hope of survival and these trials will be their last opportunity of possibly growing up and leading some kind of normal life. Without OCF’s funding and the Goal 4 A Goal program, it would not have gone ahead. |
PROGRAM EXPLAINED
What is GOAL 4 A GOAL?
GOAL 4 A GOAL is a fund-raising initiative where you pledge an amount of money for each goal that the Swans kick during the 2009 season. All money raised from the initiative will go towards funding the five year $2.5 million Gene Therapy Program at the Oncology Research Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Supporters of Goal 4 A Goal pledge an amount of money for each goal the Swans kick in 2009. We suggest a pledge of 50c or more but any amount is welcome. In 2008 (including finals) the Swans kicked 321 goals. At 50c per goal this would result in a total donation of just $160.50.
When you sign up you provide us with your credit card details. At the end of each month your contribution (goals scored multiplied by your pledge amount) is automatically charged to your credit card. A receipt is then sent to you. It’s easy and it’s tax deductible!

Donating Per Goal
All payments are made to the credit card you nominate during the registration process. At the end of each month OCF, in conjunction with the Sydney Swans, determine the number of goals kicked in that month. We then calculate the number of goals multiplied by your pledge amount. If you chosen to focus on Sydney or Melbourne games then only those games will be included in the calculation. Your donation is then automatically charged to your credit and you are sent a receipt via email or post. If your donations are starting add up to more than you intended then you can cancel your subscription at any time via FREE CALL1800 651 158 or 02 8394 7777.

Is the pledge tax deductible?
All pledges are tax deductible. We will send you a receipt every month as your credit card is debited, a summary at the end of the 2009 tax year and another summary at the end of the season for your 2009 tax return. If you have made a kick-off donation then a receipt will be issued to you typically within 7 days.
