Welcome to the Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) website
In Australia today more children die of oncology related conditions than any other disease. During 2006 over 700 Australian children under the age of 16 were diagnosed with cancer. 30 years ago most children with cancer died, now 75% can be cured permanently. This dramatic improvement is the result of an increase in the amount of money being directed into research.
Today's research is tomorrow's medicine
The Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) is a not-for-profit children's charity dedicated to helping sick and critically ill children suffering from cancer, leukaemia and other serious cancer related illnesses.
OCF is the only Australian children's charity exclusively devoted to raising funds for medical research into childhood cancers at the Children's Hospital, Westmead.
100% of the net funds raised by OCF are donated to the Oncology Research Unit (ORU) at the Children's Hospital.
The strength of the research program is dependent on your support. Please act now.
A letter from Dr Antonio Penna, Chief Executive, at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

"The Children's Hospital at Westmead's Oncology Research Unit (ORU) is a leader in the frontline research effort to unravel the mysteries of childhood cancer and to translate advances in the laboratory into new treatment options. The development of a thorough and detailed understanding of the behaviour of cancer through research will allow the ORU to both improve the therapy and outcome for children with cancer.
The Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF), one of the Hospital's major funding partners and a vigorous supporter of our research, shares our vision to cure all children with cancer and to improve the quality of life for cancer survivors.
The Oncology Children's Foundation not only underpin the yearly operation of the ORU but without their support many of our research projects would not exist, so our research program is very much largely dependent on them"
