The Oncology Children's Foundation is the major financial supporter of the Oncology Research Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. OCF has made a five year, $2.5 million funding commitment to the ORU's Gene Therapy Program which will progress to clinical trial stage this year. The aim of the Gene Therapy Program is to dramatically improve the recovery rate of children with cancer. OCF receives no government funding and is completely dependent on public support.
Ryan O'Keefe said: "I firmly believe that it is through research that we can make a real difference in the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their families. With this research and your support we can achieve the ultimate gift - life."
