Gear Up Girl Sydney March 7th 2009
GEAR UP GIRL SYDNEY Saturday March 7th 2009
Join Bicycle NSW and hundreds of other women for this fantastic women's-only cycling event.
The Gear Up Girl Challenge is not only an opportunity to have a fun girl's day out and make new friends, it is also an opportunity to raise urgently needed funds for the Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF), the Gear Up Girl Charity Partner.
The Gear Up Girl Challenge is a fun participation event, not a race! There is a choice of two routes making it suitable for women of all ages and abilities:
Sydney Olympic Park Loop - approximately 15km
This circular route around Sydney Olympic Park starts and finishes at Blaxland Riverside Park and includes the scenic Parramatta River Walk, Bicentennial Park, past ANZ Stadium and ACER Arena and the historic Newington Armoury. There is the option to repeat the circuit.
Cronulla to Sydney Olympic Park - approximately 55km
Starting in Cronulla this longer route takes you across the Captain Cook Bridge, and along the scenic waterfront cycleways of Sandringham, San Souci and Brighton le Sands. Then up the fantastic Cooks River Cycleway meandering through Tempe, Marrickville, Canterbury and Strathfield. You will experience the quiet backstreets of Homebush before entering Sydney Olympic Park and enjoying the easy cycleways to the finish at Blaxland Riverside Park.
Enter before the early bird booking date of February 6th and you could be joining OCF on our women's-only cycle challenge to Cambodia September 4th to 16th.
